For the Love of the Loire – July 30

  • Spring Mill Cafe 164 Barren Hill Road Conshohocken, PA, 19428 United States (map)

Tria takes a road trip to Conshohocken’s iconic Spring Mill Cafe, the Philly area’s own slice of the Loire Valley.

Instructor: Lauren Harris

Our wine director, Lauren Harris, loves Loire Valley wines. Spring Mill Cafe is the local restaurant that has figuratively transported locals to the Loire since 1978. For this special event, Lauren invites you on a trip to the Loire – via Conshy!

The Loire Valley wine region encompasses a 600-mile stretch of the Loire River dotted with farmland, quaint towns, and fairytale châteaux. Famed for dry whites, such as Sancerre, Pouilly Fumé, Vouvray, and Muscadet, this wildly diverse wine region also boasts stunning reds and lands right behind Champagne in sparkling production. Loire wines are the perfect food companion with moderate alcohol, refreshing acidity, lean minerality, and pure varietal expressions unmasked by oak. They are also an excellent value. Life IS a picnic when you’re enjoying wines of the Loire Valley. Our indoor picnic will showcase six Loire Valley wines – four whites, one sparkling, and one red. Light Tria snacks will be served.

The class will take place in Spring Mill Cafe’s très rustique farmhouse. For the complete experience, we suggest that you make reservations to dine at the restaurant before or after the class. We will be selling bottles for you to enjoy with dinner.
