Tantalizing Tempranillo, The Great Red Grape of Spain

Get to know this great grape with special guest Orr Reches of Olé & Obrigado, a leading importer of Iberian wines.

If Tempranillo is not part of your red wine repertoire, we humbly ask you to reconsider; there's a reason it's the fourth most widely planted red grape on Earth. In its native Spain, Tempranillo produces big reds that may evoke Bordeaux or Burgundy (it's flexible!) while going easier on the wallet. You'll explore Tempranillo and Tempranillo blends, from classic Rioja and Ribera del Duero to cutting edge Alentejo and Ribera del Guadiana. Our guest professor, Orr Reches from Olé & Obrigado, a leading importer of Iberian wines, will show you how terrific Tempranillo is through the lens of different terroirs, winemaking styles, and the ability to age.
