"I don't like German wine - all they make is super-sweet Riesling." WRONG! Explore a whole world of wine you never know existed.
Germany has long been typecast as the place that's all Riesling, all the time. That couldn’t be further from the truth. While Riesling is still the number one grape – and by the way, we adore Riesling – there are many other popular varietals and nearly 70% of German wines are actually dry. Cool-climate Germany is all about white wine, right? Surprise! Germany is the world’s third largest producer of Pinot Noir. As Burgundy prices continue to soar, turn to Germany for your Pinot fix. Come explore a wonderful range of reds and whites from Germany, not one of which is made from Riesling.
This class will be guest-taught by Tria team alum, Mariel Wega. After Tria, Mariel journeyed one block south to become wine director at a.kitchen+bar, leading it to be named one of America’s 100 Best Wine Restaurants by Wine Enthusiast magazine, and landing her a spot on the Best New Sommeliers of 2016 by Wine & Spirits magazine. Mariel is now the PA sales lead for Skurnik Wines & Spirits. Way to go, Mariel!
