Spice up your week with the revolutionary wines of Thorne & Daughters alongside winemaker John Seccombe visiting from South Africa.
Instructor: Lauren Harris + John Seccombe
Get ready for a South African Wine Safari! On Tuesday, September 10th, we are thrilled to open our doors at Tria Wash West to the fabulous John Seccombe from Thorne & Daughters.
Thorne & Daughters Wines was started in 2012 by John and Tasha Seccombe to produce authentic wines in the beautiful Western Cape where they have made their home. It has been a long journey that has taken the couple around the world and brought them back to their original meeting place. The Seccombes are huge supporters of the Cape, and the project aims to bottle the magic South African terroir and sunshine in their wines.
To produce the wines of Thorne & Daughters, the duo has drawn on the great history of wine growing in South Africa, putting together old vineyard parcels with new grape varieties, and making wines with old-school simplicity and a modern ‘edge.' Their approach to wine-making is simple, honest, and gentle. It is a huge honor to have them in Philadelphia, as they look to share their wines that tell a story of the Cape of Good Hope.
You do not want to miss this one-night-only event. We will be exploring five whites and one red, and as always, tasty Tria snacks will be served. We invite you to join us beforehand for Tria's signature Happier Hour.
Bottles will be available for sale after class.
