Join celebrated winemaker Margaux Gentile of Château de Roquefort for a guided tasting of their spectacular Provençal wines.
Nearly 90% of wine production in France's Provence region is rosé and these wines comprises nearly 10% of world rosé production. Provence is the world's only wine region in which pink is the primary color. How pretty! For this special event, however, winemaker Margaux Gentile will taste us on Château de Roquefort's range of wines that includes all three wine colors!
Château de Roquefort is a beautiful, biodynamic vineyard that is situated in an amphitheater and enjoys a unique microclimate. Raimond De Villeneuve returned to his family property in 1995; his first vintage under the Château name was in 1998. Previously the wines from Roquefort were sold in bulk - nothing special. But as an open-minded winemaker and taster, Raimond strived for quality and always experimented. Notably after planting Cabernet Franc, he tried and succeeded with Portuguese varieties. The estate is now run by the talented Margaux Gentile, who worked with Raimond for many years. She is passionalty continuing the work of Château de Roquefort and pushing the boundaries of what Provençal wines can be.
Bottles will be available for sale after the class.
