Old World vs. New World: What Does It Mean?

Wine Class

Take a tour of two wine philosophies with Tria Wine Director, Lauren Harris. You’ll gain a better understanding of your favorite beverage.

The "Old World" wine-producing countries include France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, Greece, Austria, Hungary, and Germany. "New World" nations include United States, Australia, South Africa, Chile, Argentina, and New Zealand. But what about what's in the glass? Why should we care?

Lauren will show you the differences in philosophy, style and regulations between Old World and New World wines through tasting four expressions each of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. It'll be out of this world.
