It is in Tuscany, the birthplace of the Renaissance, that wine has her deepest ties to high art, religion and politics. Tuscany is home to three of Italy’s most majestic red wines: Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile de Montepulciano, all based on the noble Sangiovese grape. Come taste what makes each of these wines tick. We’ll also explore the popular, internationally styled “Super Tuscan” category, as well as the region’s famous white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, and the sweet sipper, Vin Santo. Fine Italian cheeses and accompaniments will round out our enlightening Tuscan tour.
